We have tried to keep our 'facilitation' fees as low as possible. The fee that a developer pays goes straight back into the development of the site and the creation of additional requests to expand the library:
Example 1: Somebody purchases a commercial licence for £100, for a piece of code that you have submitted to the site under both commercial and GPL licences. Then you will get:
£100 (license fee) – £3 (3% CodeCogs.com fee) = £ 96
Example 2: Purchaser accepts your bid for £50 to buy a commercial licence for the requested software. As soon as the purchaser has agreed that the software meets their requirements and the terms of the development contract, we release to you:
£50 (licence fee) – £3 (6% CodeCogs.com fee) = £ 47
As the controller of this software you can then choose to extend the licensing of the software to include the GPL terms. For each subsequent commercial licence sold you would then receive:
£50 (licence fee) – £1.5 (3% CodeCogs.com fee) = £ 48.5
If you choose NOT to extend the licensing of the software to include the GPL terms. For each subsequent commercial licence sold you would then receive:
£50 (licence fee) – £3 (6% CodeCogs.com fee) = £ 47
Example 3: Purchaser requests a piece of Software to be developed and wants it to own it outright (a private deal). Purchaser accepts your bid for £1000, and you develop the Software and submit it to the Web Site for verification. It will not stay on the Web Site. You will then receive:
£1000 (development fee) – £60 (6% CodeCogs.com fee) = £ 940
