Adding calculators to my own web pages
I'm interested in using CodeCogs to write instant calculators to my own web pages.

When I copy the iframe code from the example calculator on http://codecogs.com/pages/calculator/instant_calculator.php into my own web page all I see is the message "Add calculator to website or email", and no sign of the calculator.

I also notice that if I follow the link to email the calculator to myself I get the following error message; "There was a problem sending the email: Internal Server Error".

Can anybody help me with adding instant calculators to my web pages.

Many thanks

Hi,

Our mistake. This has been corrected now and should work both on our pages and on your website. Let us know if otherwise.

Thanks for reporting this,

Will.

Hi Will,

The calculator now loads okay on my web page -- thank you, however; <ol> <li>the <i>graph</i> and <i>table</i> buttons are not working</li> <li>pressing <i>calculate</i> on your pages re-loads the calculator without the rest of the page</li> <li>I still can't email myself the calculator, but I'm no longer getting an error message</li> </ol>

Never a good idea to fix bugs the morning after Christmas!, and then not to refresh your browser cache.

Problem was a small typo in javascript, which froze everything. This is fix and I've also optimised the code using jQuery (great library btw) Everything on your list should work correctly now.

Thanks Will, everything appears to be working fine.

One question I do have however, is it possible to suppress your disclaimer message when a calculator is used repeatedly on an external web page?

I can understand that a disclaimer is required when the calculator is first used, but it gets rather tiresome after a while.

Many thanks

Hi,

The disclaimer should only appear once every 7 days if your cookies are working correctly.

The disclaimer should also only appear once across all instant calculators. i.e. once you've agreed to this once, you won't see it again regardless of how many different calculators you use.

I think this is reasonable and not that annoying - however if you were to display a disclaimer else where on your page then we could always build in the option to exclude certain websites.

However, if this isn't working as described above then its another bug!

Email me the url to your website and I'll check it later. Also let me know which browsers your playing with (Pray not Opera).

Thanks Will

Hi Will,

I would have thought that the disclaimer could be shown once a day, I'd certainly be happy with that.

I've carried out a quick survey of the browsers I have to hand; Firefox and Chrome appear to be fine, but both IE6 and IE8 show the disclaimer every time. The URL I'm testing is http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1919767/CryoWiki/CryoWiki.html#Radiation

Ok,

That makes sense. Will resolve this for IE shortly.

Now working in IE, Safari, FireFox, Chrome and even Opera - so it must be right :)

Looking forward to your other feedback.
