A NEW Equation Editor for you (tell us what you want).
Over the next month we'll be introducing an entirely new Equation Editor, with a completely new look and improved functionality.

The new look editor will be run in parallel to the existing system and we'll be asking for your feedback at each stage of its development.

Our goal with this release is to make an editor that is personalised to you, this will include
  • remembering the setting you make from one session to another
  • customisable panels which you can add or delete and that adapt to your use: buttons you use least often will be less visible.
  • customisable skins, allowing you to change fonts, colour and even layout.
  • improved editing capability

This is important and we will be taking our time to get it right, so please send us your comments, feedback and requests.

That's great news. The number one feature I'm looking for is easy integration with TinyMCE and/or CKEditor.

I see this was on the map for v3 at one point: http://www.codecogs.com/components/equationeditor/equation_install.php

but I didn't see it in your list above. Is it still planned? Is this "entirely new Equation Editor" going to be v3 or a new version line?

Yes integration with TinyMCE, FCKEditor and CKEditor are all top priorities. We'll probably do this first as the integration is independent of the equation editor design.
