Every function, class and reference page on CodeCogs is Copyright (C) Zyba Ltd, with the original author credited at the top of the code — that credit line is a courtesy to the person who wrote it, not a transfer of the copyright itself.

GPL License

Unless otherwise stated, code on this site is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3 (GPLv3). You are free to use, copy, modify and distribute the code, including for commercial purposes, subject to the terms of the GPLv3.

In short: you may use and modify the code freely. If you distribute the code, or a work derived from or incorporating GPL-licensed CodeCogs code, you must comply with the GPLv3, including making the corresponding source code available under the GPLv3 and preserving the applicable copyright and licence notices. The software is provided without warranty, as described in the GPLv3.

If you wish to incorporate CodeCogs code into proprietary software without the GPLv3 requirements, a separate commercial licence is available by request for a nominal fee.

Generated Content and Calculators

The GPLv3 licence applies to the source code made available by CodeCogs, not to the results you create using it.

Equations, calculations, numerical results, plots and other output generated using the interactive tools on this website may be used freely for any purpose, including commercial purposes. You may copy, modify, publish and incorporate these results into your own work without being required to release that work under the GPLv3.

Where CodeCogs provides generated software code and specifically for copying or embedding into your own projects, that generated code is licensed under the MIT License, unless otherwise stated.

In other words, using a CodeCogs calculator or equation tool does not make your work subject to the GPLv3. The GPLv3 applies to the underlying CodeCogs source code; the results produced by the website are free for you to use.
