Site Terms of Use
Last updated 10 September 2026.
1. What this site is
CodeCogs (operated by Zyba Ltd) publishes a library of numerical C/C++ code and reference material, lets you run it interactively through the calculators on each page, and lets you download the underlying code. By using the site you agree to these terms; if you don't agree, please don't use it.
2. Accounts and sign-in
Signing in uses a one-time link sent to your email address — we don't ask for or store a password. Signing in is only required to download code or to edit/submit a page; browsing and using the interactive calculators never requires an account.
3. Licensing of code on this site
Unless a page states otherwise, all code on CodeCogs is available under the GPLv3 License — free to use, copy, modify and distribute the code, including for commercial purposes, subject to the terms of the GPLv3. See Licence details for the full terms. Viewing code and documentation on a page and downloading it carry the same licence.
4. Contributing content
If you submit, edit or fork a page, you're responsible for what you write, and you confirm you have the right to license it under this site's terms. We may remove content that infringes someone else's rights, is inaccurate in a way that could mislead readers, or otherwise breaches these terms.
5. No tracking, no ads
CodeCogs does not use analytics or advertising cookies, and does not track what you calculate. A single session cookie is used only to keep you signed in when you choose to sign in. See our privacy note below for what little data we do handle.
We keep the account and technical information needed to run the service — your email address (if you sign in), and standard server logs (IP address, timestamps) kept only as long as needed for security and abuse prevention. We don't sell or share this with third parties.
6. Acceptable use
Please don't use CodeCogs to:
- post or submit content that's unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or that you don't have permission to share;
- attempt to disrupt the service, gain unauthorised access to it, or place an unreasonable load on it (automated scraping beyond what a normal search engine crawler does isn't permitted without our agreement);
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship to CodeCogs.
7. No warranty
The site and the code on it are provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. You're responsible for testing and validating any code before relying on it, particularly in safety-critical or commercial use — the interactive calculators are a convenience for exploring behaviour, not a substitute for your own verification.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always the one at this address. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the update.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms, or a licensing arrangement outside the MIT terms above, can be sent to Zyba Ltd via the address on our About page.
